At PEP, openness and transparency with parents is a core guiding principle.

Further, we believe that complementing the work of educators with pertinent, guided contributions from parents is integral to great learning outcomes.

Why partner with parents?

parents are customers

Parents are as much a school’s customers as their children: they deserve transparency, convenience and an anxiety-free experience.

We believe that an outstanding parent experience must cover all aspects of their relationship with the school, including a comfortable admission process, detailed progress review meetings and flexible two-way communication with educators .

parents are educators at home

We recognise that parents are important educators in students’ lives, and deeply influence their children’s attitudes, mindsets and habits. Channeling the school’s and parent’s efforts in the same direction can have a tremendous positive impact on learning outcomes.

what do we do to partner well?

transparent admission process

We follow a painless and transparent admissions process. We do not rush parents into making their decision, we do not levy hidden fees and we do not interview children. We believe in clearly and candidly communicating our value proposition to parents, and seek to provide all the information they need to decide if PEP is right for their child.

active & continuous collaboration

In dual-income families, parents’ free time with their children can often be rather limited; thus, using it effectively is paramount. Further, some first-time parents may find it useful to receive appropriate child development related guidance. We believe that our educators can support parents actively by providing relevant, personalised suggestions for parent-child activities that can naturally complement learning in school.

communication & feedback processes

We keep open lines of communication with parents, who are welcome to contact educators or walk in to the school with appointments. These interactions could have to do with day-to-day learning related activities, or more long-term matters. On their part, our educators ensure that parents are periodically kept up-to-date with their child’s progress.

Parents are also invited to be actively involved in the school’s formal feedback process; we believe that as loyal customers, parents are entitled to expect constant improvement in our services.

how we partner with parents

technology tools

We use mobile apps to keep two-way communication lines open between educators and parents. Parents may communicate with their child’s educators over email, and also request appointments for in-person meetings.

Parent-educator meetings

We employ face-to-face parent educator meetings as formal mechanisms to define student goals, agree on learning paths and review progress. These are 100% compulsory events for parents, and may last for several hours per student.

Additionally, we also request our parents to spend at least a day every quarter within our learning environments to get an up-close-and-personal view of how children are learning inside school.

access to experts

We periodically conduct expert lectures and workshops on themes relating to parenting and child development. All parents are invited to these free sessions, and are welcome to bring friends and colleagues.
